• The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm has officially commenced commercial operations at its full design capacity of 640 MW.
• All 80 turbines have been successfully connected to the grid, driving Taiwan's total installed offshore wind capacity beyond 3.9 GW.
• Green energy generated annually is sufficient to meet the power demand of more than 600,000 Taiwanese households.

Yunneng Wind Power Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Yunneng") announced on Aug 21th that the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm has officially entered full commercial operation. With a total installed capacity of 640 MW, all 80 turbines have been successfully connected to the grid and are generating power. The project has obtained all required electricity licenses, fully complied with regulatory requirements, and fulfilled all contractual obligations under its financing agreements. This milestone marks the transition of one of Taiwan's largest offshore wind farms into its operations and maintenance (O&M) phase.

Yunneng is a joint venture established by Skyborn Renewables, TotalEnergies, Thailand's EGCO Group, and Japanese company Sojitz. The development and construction of the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm were led by Skyborn Renewables with the full support of its partners, achieving full grid connection of all turbines in January this year. Following the commencement of commercial operations, technical operations and maintenance will be managed by TotalEnergies, while Skyborn Renewables will assume responsibility for a wide range of commercial management services to ensure optimal performance of the wind farm. The project will generate 2,400 GWh of green energy annually, equivalent to the consumption of more than 600,000 households in Taiwan—satisfying nearly 90% of Yunlin County's non-industrial electricity demand and reducing carbon emissions by approximately 1.2 million metric tons per year.

Xian Xuan Gu, APAC CEO of Yunneng, stated: "Since securing grid capacity allocation in 2018 through to the official commencement of commercial operations, the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm has set new benchmarks for collaboration with local industries and for innovative project financing, while embracing environmental stewardship and community engagement as core commitments. We would like to extend our sincere gratitude to the project team, shareholders, lending banks, contractors, and the strong support of the Taiwan government. This landmark project embodies our steadfast determination and commitment to achieving optimal operations and performance over the next 30 years."

The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm is located in the Taiwan Strait, 8 to 17 kilometers off Taiwan's western coast, at water depths ranging from 7 to 35 meters. Covering an area of 82 square kilometers, the wind farm comprises 80 turbines, with electricity transmitted via two onshore substations in Taixi and Sihu Townships of Yunlin County into the national grid. Power is supplied to TaiPower Company under two 20-year Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs). The project has been strongly supported by a consortium of local banks, international lenders, and export credit agencies, established in 2019.
