|Vietnam Implements New Legislation Permitting Direct Acquisition of Renewable Energy from July 3
Effective July 3, the Vietnamese government has enacted a new decree permitting local factories to purchase electricity directly from renewable energy producers. This decree encompasses various forms of renewable energy, including solar power, wind power, small hydropower, biomass power, geothermal power, wave power, tidal power, ocean current power, and rooftop solar power. The decree outlines two primary methods for electricity procurement: through private grids and the national grid. For private grids, sellers and consumers can independently negotiate prices. This initiative is anticipated to unlock the region's abundant renewable energy potential and facilitate easier access to green energy for businesses.

|Norway Pursues Enhanced Cooperation with Indonesia Explores Investment Opportunities in Hydropower and CCS
Norway seeks to bolster its partnership with Indonesia and explore investment opportunities in renewable energy sectors, specifically hydropower and carbon capture and storage (CCS). Norwegian Energy Minister Terje Aasland expressed optimism following a meeting with Indonesian Energy Minister Arifin Tasrif in Jakarta earlier this month, acknowledging challenges while underscoring the potential for enhanced collaboration. Norway intends to utilize its expertise in hydropower and carbon capture to aid Indonesia in reducing carbon emissions. Since the onset of the Ukraine conflict in 2022, Norway has emerged as Europe's largest supplier of natural gas and continues to be a leading producer of oil and gas in Western Europe. Norway's inaugural CCS project, "Northern Lights," is slated to commence storage operations next May, following the completion of capacity preparations this year.

|Basianshan Micro-Hydropower Plant Becomes the First Hydropower Green Energy Demonstration Area in National Forest Recreation Areas
Taichung Branch, FANCA (MOA) has installed a micro-hydropower station in the Basianshan National Forest Recreation Area, utilizing the water level drop of Shiwen Creek. The annual power generation is approximately 5,500 kWh. This electricity will supply public facilities such as the bamboo-structured art restroom and ecological pond lighting, reducing over 2.7 tons of carbon emissions annually. This marks the first hydropower green energy demonstration area in Taiwan's national forest recreation areas. During the construction of this power generation facility, environmental disturbances were minimized to ensure stable power supply without being affected by weather conditions. This initiative demonstrates the values of energy conservation, environmental protection, and sustainable green energy resilience.
