47 wind turbines are installed in Formosa 2 Offshore Wind Farm
Formosa 2 has officially announced the successful completion of the installation of all 47 wind turbines on January 31st. The company will continue progressing with the trial operations of the wind turbines and subsequent completion operations to contribute to Taiwan's objective of transitioning to clean energy sources.
Formosa 2 completed the installation of all underwater foundations and undersea cables last year, actively pushing forward the project in the severe weather conditions of the Taiwanese winter. As a result, the 47 wind turbines now stand tall in the waters off Miaoli, and more than 80% of the turbines have already started generating electricity.
Tiemen Maebe, Project Director of Formosa 2 & GM Asset Management at JERA, stated, "On behalf of the Formosa 2 team, I express my sincere gratitude to our important partners, contractors, and dedicated project team for their tireless efforts and contributions. With the successful completion of the wind turbine installation, Formosa 2 will confidently move towards the commercial and operational phases while maintaining rigorous environmental and safety standards, with a commitment to providing clean energy and realizing sustainable value for Taiwan."
