｜MRT Bureau Affirms Completion Target for Kaohsiung Yellow Line by 2028 Remains Unchanged
The contract for the civil and electromechanical works of the Kaohsiung MRT Yellow Line "YC02 Package" was signed on June 18. In response to public concerns that the original plan to open the line in 2028 might be delayed until after 2034, the Kaohsiung MRT Bureau emphasized that the target to complete the entire Yellow Line by 2028 remains unchanged.

To encourage private donations for social housing, the Kaohsiung City Government has revised the implementation rules of the Urban Planning Act for Kaohsiung City. The new regulations specify that private donations of more than 600 square meters (181.5 ping) of floor space for social housing will be exempt from floor area calculations and will be eligible for a Building Bulk Ratio Bonus of up to 50%.

To expedite the establishment of branches of National Chiao Tung University and National Tsing Hua University in Zuoying, Kaohsiung Mayor Chi-Mai Chen made a special trip to visit the two universities. He pledged to coordinate with central government ministries to assist in establishing the Kaohsiung branches. The universities have indicated that enterprises are already inquiring and expressing expectations for courses to be offered in Kaohsiung, reflecting a significant demand for professional development in the industry.
