Global Offshore Wind Industry towards Net Zero Carbon Emission Seminar
Global Offshore Wind Industry towards Net Zero Carbon Emission Seminar

In light of Taiwan's goal to achieve an offshore wind power installation capacity of 40-55 GW by 2050, large-scale construction of offshore wind farms is underway. A key challenge for Taiwan's offshore wind sector is determining how to advance towards net-zero emissions across the supply chain, installation, and operations and maintenance (O&M) stages.
To assist domestic companies in understanding global decarbonization trends in the offshore wind industry and learning from international benchmark leaders to enhance decarbonization strategies, the Metal Industries Research & Development Centre (MIRDC), under the guidance of the Industrial Development Bureau, Ministry of Economic Affairs, is hosting the "Global Offshore Wind Industry towards Net Zero Carbon Emission Seminar."
The seminar will feature MIRDC's presentation on the current decarbonization trends and status within the global offshore wind industry. Carbon Trust has been invited to share the results of the SUS JIP project, which offers the world's first industry-supported carbon footprint standards and guidelines for the offshore wind supply chain. The UK's Offshore Renewable Energy (ORE) Catapult will provide a specialized presentation on reducing waste and creating value through wind turbine decommissioning, refurbishment, remanufacturing, and material recycling.
Leading domestic offshore wind companies will also present case studies on carbon inventory practices and supply chain decarbonization methods, offering valuable learning and collaboration opportunities for local companies.
