Taiwan CPC Clarifies: All LNG Carriers Successfully Docked and Unloaded Without Impact from Chinese Military Exercises
According to media reports, foreign captains refused to traverse the exercise area during the Chinese military exercises conducted on May 23 and 24, resulting in no LNG carriers docking and unloading in Taiwan for 3 consecutive days. CPC Corporation, Taiwan (CPC), clarifies that during the military exercises, 2 LNG carriers successfully arrived and completed unloading as planned. Additionally, 3 LNG carriers also docked and unloaded according to schedule in the three days preceding the exercises. The reported disruptions by external media did not occur.
To ensure a stable supply of natural gas within Taiwan, CPC plans LNG import schedules in advance based on the gas demands of various domestic users. The schedules are adjusted dynamically according to the actual domestic gas usage scenarios, and safety stocks are maintained as required by regulations. The domestic natural gas supply has not been affected by the military exercises and remains secure.
