|French Haffner Energy Partners with Bambbco to Enhance Biomass Diversity with Bamboo
Haffner Energy has announced a partnership with Bambbco, a French bamboo supplier, to diversify its biomass sources for renewable hydrogen production. Bamboo is an ideal resource, particularly grown on degraded land, and does not compete with traditional agriculture. This collaboration aims to provide an alternative to conventional forest residues and enhance biomass supply.

Bamboo, known for its rapid growth and resilience, is a highly efficient material for biomass, yielding up to four times more per hectare than wood residues. It also thrives in harsh climates, positioning Bambbco as a key supplier for Haffner Energy's thermolysis technology, which converts organic matter into renewable hydrogen. The inclusion of bamboo reduces reliance on traditional biomass resources while contributing to carbon sequestration through biocarbon production.

This partnership is economically beneficial for Haffner Energy, as bamboo offers a steady, year-round supply at competitive prices. By diversifying biomass sources, Haffner Energy strengthens its position in the renewable hydrogen market, aiming for further international expansion.

|EDF to Shut Down Cordemais Coal Plant by 2027 and Termination of Eco-Combust Biomass Project
EDF has confirmed the shutdown of its Cordemais thermal power plant by 2027, abandoning the Eco-Combust project aimed at converting the facility to biomass. High costs associated with wood pellets and long-term contracts made the project financially unviable, leading EDF to shift focus towards nuclear energy and renewables to meet national energy targets.

The closure will affect approximately 500 workers, with EDF planning redeployment options within its Framatome subsidiary and other internal pathways. However, the shift won't fully compensate for job losses, and unions express disappointment over the missed opportunity for decarbonized energy transformation.

Cordemais' closure also raises concerns about the energy balance in the Grand Ouest region, where the plant has been critical in stabilizing electricity supply during peak demand. EDF's growing reliance on nuclear power, along with renewable energy development, is expected to compensate for the loss of this thermal power source.

|Switzerland's largest power producer Axpo Inaugurates France's Largest Rooftop Solar Power Plant in Beauvais
Switzerland's largest power producer Axpo, through its subsidiary Urbasolar, has commissioned a 12.8 MWp solar power plant in Beauvais, marking a significant step in accelerating solar energy in France. This plant, spanning 62,000 square meters, will generate 13 GWh of electricity annually, powering almost 3,000 French households. Located 80 kilometers from Paris, this project supports France's decarbonization goals, particularly focusing on solar power.

Axpo, active across several European countries, continues to expand its solar infrastructure in France. Urbasolar has played a crucial role in the industrial rooftop solar segment, deploying over 190 MWp and diversifying into agrivoltaic projects and floating photovoltaic installations.
