Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its fifth flagship fund (Copenhagen Infrastructure V, CI V), announced today (April 22) that its Fengmiao Phase 1 offshore wind farm has signed a Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Google in March. This marks Google's first offshore wind power procurement in both Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region.

Thomas Wibe Poulsen, Head of CIP Asia Pacific and Chairman of the Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm, stated that this agreement represents the second offshore wind power procurement collaboration between Google and CIP, following the 250 MW PPA signed in December 2024 for the Zeevonk offshore wind project in the Netherlands. This cooperation in Taiwan also strengthens the lineup of corporate green electricity buyers for the Fengmiao Phase 1 project.

The Fengmiao Phase 1 offshore wind farm successfully reached financial close on March 19, 2025, and officially entered the construction phase. Manufacturing and installation activities have already been actively underway.

Giorgio Fortunato, Head of Clean Energy and Power for Google Asia Pacific, said, "The CPPA between Google and CIP for the Fengmiao Phase 1 offshore wind farm represents Google's first offshore wind power procurement project in the Asia-Pacific region and is a significant milestone. Offshore wind complements our growing energy portfolio and will help power Google's data centers, cloud regions, and offices in Taiwan."

Located approximately 35 kilometers off the coast of Taichung City, the Fengmiao Phase 1 offshore wind farm will install 33 wind turbines with a total capacity of around 500 MW, with on-schedule power delivery being its highest priority.
