Fengmiao Wind Farm and CDWE jointly hold Blessing Ceremony

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its fifth flagship fund (CI V), announced that the first set of underwater foundations for the Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm has been successfully installed on March 4. Piling operations are currently proceeding at full speed.

The Fengmiao Wind Farm is located approximately 35 kilometers off the coast of Taichung City and is planned to feature 33 wind turbines with a total capacity of 500 MW. The project requires a total of 99 underwater piles, all of which were manufactured on schedule by local suppliers Century Huaxin and CTCI Machinery. Transportation and installation are being undertaken by CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE), using the domestically built large-scale offshore wind vessel, Green Jade, which was officially mobilized during the Lunar New Year period.

Prior to the Lunar New Year, the Fengmiao Wind Farm and CDWE jointly held a maritime engineering blessing ceremony at Taichung Port's Pier 106. Attendees included representatives from the Taiwan International Ports Corporation and Central Branch, the Coast Guard Administration, the Taichung Harbor Police Department, and the Taichung Fishermen's Association, all of whom participated in prayers for smooth maritime operations and personnel safety.

Mark Wainwright, CEO of the Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm, stated that in addition to maintaining close collaboration with supply chain partners such as CDWE to execute offshore operations, the Fengmiao team has also engaged local fishermen to assist with maritime security and cetacean monitoring, ensuring that construction activities prioritize both marine safety and ecological protection. The Fengmiao Wind Farm will continue to work closely with its supply chain, local communities, and government authorities to guarantee project quality and schedule.

Robert Tseng, Chairman of CDWE, remarked that the company is honored to collaborate once again with CIP following the Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Farm, contributing to the development of Taiwan's green energy infrastructure. Building on the strong coordination and experience gained from previous wind farm installation projects, CDWE is committed to meeting all challenges and ensuring the timely and high-quality delivery of the Fengmiao Wind Farm transportation and installation contract.

Naiwen Marina Hsu, President of CIP Asia-Pacific, emphasized that offshore wind power is a critical pillar of the government's "Maximizing Green Energy" policy and is vital to the overall development of Taiwan's industry. CIP will continue to uphold its professional and rigorous standards, delivering the Fengmiao Wind Farm on time and with high quality, while actively advancing the development of Fengmiao II. By providing large-scale, long-term, and stable renewable energy, CIP aims to support the sustainable growth of Taiwan's economy.
