Fugro Awarded Geotechnical Site Investigation Contract for 600 MW Fengmiao 2 Offshore Wind Farm

Fugro has been awarded a geotechnical site investigation contract by Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP) for the 600 MW Fengmiao 2 Offshore Wind Farm, one of the projects selected under Taiwan's Round 2 offshore wind development program. The project is a key contributor to Taiwan's national goal of reaching 13.1 GW of installed offshore wind capacity by 2030, underscoring Fugro's continued commitment to advancing energy transition across the Asia-Pacific region through innovation, sustainability, and strong local collaboration.
Under the contract, Fugro will deliver a comprehensive suite of geotechnical survey services for the offshore wind farm located off Taiwan's west coast. The project will be executed by the Taiwan-flagged vessel Pacific Hornbill, equipped with an advanced C30 offshore drilling rig, Fugro's proprietary WISON® MkV EcoDrive downhole testing and sampling system, and the SEACALF® MkV Deep Drive® seabed testing platform. These technologies will enable the acquisition of high-quality geotechnical data from both seabed and subsurface conditions, with offshore operations scheduled for completion in the third quarter of 2026.
Safri Drahman, Regional Business Line Director for Asia Pacific at Fugro, stated that the company is honored to have been selected by CIP to participate in the Fengmiao 2 project. This collaboration reflects CIP's trust in Fugro and builds upon the company's strong track record in Taiwan's offshore wind sector since 2016, where it has consistently delivered high-value geodata solutions.
