State Street today (21) announced the winners of the 2025 State Street Asia Pacific Institutional Press Awards (STT Press Awards), recognizing outstanding media coverage of institutional financial services across the region. Building on the long-standing success of the awards program first established in London in 2002, the Asia Pacific edition was officially launched in 2012. This year's winning entries were selected by an independent panel of seven industry experts based on writing style, content quality, accuracy, and timeliness.

The judging panel was chaired by William Mellor, former senior writer and Asia correspondent at Bloomberg News, now an independent writer and producer, and included distinguished professionals from academia, finance, and media. Their collective expertise ensured a rigorous and comprehensive evaluation process, reflecting the evolving standards of financial journalism in a dynamic market environment.

Other judges included:

• Mr. Wen Li, Head of the Department of Journalism and Professor of Practice, Hong Kong Baptist University
• Dr. King-Lun Au, Executive Director of the Financial Services Development Council (FSDC)
• Mr. Kin-Wah Au, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of The LaunchPad.Biz
• Mr. Tin-Yam Cheng, Founder and Chief Consultant of Advise Insight Ltd
• Mr. Jame DiBiasio, Author, Journalist, and Media Founder
• Ms. Alison Tudor, Former Journalist and Multimedia Editor

Enoch Yiu of the South China Morning Post received the highly regarded Outstanding Financial Institution News Contribution Award, selected through nomination and voting by the panel. With nearly three decades of dedication to institutional reporting, Yiu was commended for her persistence, depth of coverage, and extensive network of reliable sources. A six-time award recipient, her work has consistently addressed complex and often overlooked topics, including regulatory developments and investment services, with clarity and balance. Her 2025 submissions further demonstrated her commitment to objective, high-quality journalism.

Stefan Gmür, Head of Asia Pacific at State Street, congratulated the winners and praised the broader journalism community for their commitment to covering critical issues in today's financial markets. He noted that this year's awards received approximately 250 entries, reflecting strong engagement across the region. Mellor added that the overall quality of submissions continued to improve, highlighting the essential role of high-caliber journalism in fostering informed dialogue and supporting knowledge exchange within the global investment community.
