Skyborn Renewables today (21) announced that the 640 MW Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm, for which the company is responsible for construction and operations, has officially been awarded the most comprehensive level of international project certification by the third-party independent global verification body DNV, in accordance with DNV-SE-0190, covering all five major project phases.

This milestone marks a first for Taiwan's offshore wind sector, underscoring Skyborn Renewables' and the Yunlin project team's excellence in technical capability, quality assurance, and project management, and reaffirming their commitment to delivering green power to the highest international standards.

The highest-level project certification achieved by the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm spans five critical phases: Design Basis, Detailed Design, Production, Transport and Installation, and Commissioning. From the Q1 2018 through the Q4 2025, DNV conducted an approximately eight-year certification process, involving comprehensive documentation reviews at each stage and on-site inspections commencing at the start of the manufacturing phase.

Through this phased and rigorous assessment, DNV evaluated the wind farm's design integrity, manufacturing quality, construction safety, and expected turbine performance, ensuring full compliance with international regulations and standards while effectively mitigating project risks and enhancing overall technical and construction quality.

This groundbreaking milestone marks the first time Taiwan's offshore wind farm has achieved the most comprehensive and stringent level of international certification. Skyborn Renewables Europe and Taiwan certification teams worked closely with all investment partners and supply-chain stakeholders, engaging DNV as an independent and objective third-party to conduct a full and rigorous assessment and verification of project execution, culminating in the successful attainment of this significant achievement.

Patrick Lammers, CEO of Skyborn Renewables, stated: "From the very outset of the Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm project, we committed to adopting the highest-level DNV-SE-0190 international project certification as our execution benchmark. Achieving this certification on schedule not only opens a new chapter for Taiwan's renewable energy industry, but also sets a higher bar for quality and execution standards across the offshore wind sector, demonstrating our steadfast commitment to sustainable energy."

The Yunlin Offshore Wind Farm officially commenced commercial operations in 2025 and has entered the operations and maintenance (O&M) phase, representing Skyborn Renewables' first operational project in the Asia-Pacific region. Looking ahead, the company will continue to expand its global offshore wind portfolio, with the 976.5 MW Gennakar project in Germany as the next flagship milestone. Scheduled for completion in 2028, Gennakar will become the largest offshore wind farm in the German Baltic Sea, as Skyborn Renewables remains firmly committed to delivering safer and more sustainable energy supplies worldwide.
