Total of 5 companies(CIP, EDF Renewables & Taiya Renewable Energy, Skyborn & LeaLea, Corio, SRE) have applied to Taiwan's Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) for the signing of administration contracts for the 3.1 auction. The Ministry's Bureau of Energy (BOE) has indicated that the applications have been received and the industrial relevant plan will be reviewed in order to promptly complete the signing process. The 3.1 phase of zonal development is scheduled to take place between 2026 and 2027.

MOEA expresses gratitude to these companies for demonstrating their commitment to local and industrial development in the field of offshore wind sector. This commitment will stimulate the participation of domestic industries in offshore wind farm construction while maintaining Taiwan's industrial competitiveness. Offshore wind plays a critical role for achieving net-zero carbon emissions, especially in the pursuit of the 2050 net-zero carbon emissions target.

Currently, the 3.1 involves projects to be installed between 2026 and 2027 and connected to grid. MOEA stated that it will actively assist developers to ensure timely project completion. However, with regard to the 3.2 auction, MOEA is actively soliciting opinions from various parties to promote offshore wind development.
