OEG Renewables Successfully Complete Preventative Maintenance Campaign for Ørsted Taiwan Offshore Substations

OEG Renewables group (OEGR) announce that Specialist Marine Consultants ("SMC") has successfully completed a turnkey preventative inspection and maintenance ("IM") campaign on two offshore substations operated by Ørsted in Taiwan.
This was a high-profile project since it was conducted on Taiwan's first two offshore substations which are now part of the country's key national infrastructure. SMC specialists oversaw the IM of safety critical components, adhering to the highest global standards and service quality.
This project underlined OEGR's commitment to delivering excellence and its ability to leverage its expanded range of specialist services to establish the company as a key strategic partner for wind farm developers in Taiwan and the APAC region. OEGR is committed to developing local teams and resources, which provides deeper alignment and engagement with clients and local communities and supports the advancement of the energy transition.
Taiwan is currently positioned to be the largest offshore wind market in the APAC region outside of China, as it targets 13 GW by 2030 and up to 55 GW by 2050 of offshore wind capacity. In addition, Japan and South Korea have also set ambitious targets of 10 GW and 14.3 GW respectively by 2030, and 110 GW and 92.3 GW by 2050, making the APAC region a key growth region where OEG Renewables can leverage its global footprint and expanded service offerings.
Dean Coates, SMC's Managing Director said: "We are delighted to have successfully completed this project for Ørsted utlising our topside specialists to ensure a successful IM campaign. SMC are proud to have been a trusted supplier to Ørsted for 15 years to date, supporting activities throughout the UK, Europe, Americas, and APAC. The successful delivery of this project further underlines OEGR's position as a key player providing critical services to the offshore wind market in Taiwan and the broader APAC region, and it was truly heartening to be able to deliver these works in collaboration with a number of local partners".
