CSBC Names Robert Tseng as Chairman to Lead CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering

Following the August leadership restructuring, where Cheng-Hung Huang, a professor at NCKU, assumed the role of Chairman of CSBC Corporation Taiwan (CSBC), the company has once again appointed Robert Tseng as Chairman of CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering (CDWE) to ensure continued and effective engagement in the offshore wind power maritime engineering sector. This decision was unanimously approved by the board of directors on September 24, 2024.
Tseng previously served as General Manager of CSBC from 2017 to 2021 and also held the role of the com[any's Chairman during CDWE's early stages. During his tenure, he led the team in securing significant maritime engineering contracts, including the turbine installation management plan and the subsea foundation installation plan for the Zhong Neng Offshore Wind Farm, as well as the transportation and installation project for the Hai Long Offshore Wind Farm, thereby establishing a solid operational foundation for CDWE.
In line with the government's policy to promote local offshore engineering and shipbuilding and to expand the capacity of maritime work vessels, Tseng led a team, including DEME Offshore leadership and major shareholders, to meet with the Ministry of Economic Affairs, the Bureau of Energy, and the Industrial Development Bureau. They explained the importance of investing in local maritime vessels, leading to the successful launch of Taiwan's first offshore wind power installation vessel, "Green Jade," as part of an investment plan exceeding NT$7 billion. Since 2020, CSBC has been involved in designing and constructing Taiwan-registered work vessels, marking a new chapter in the nation's offshore wind power maritime engineering capabilities.
Tseng expressed: "I am deeply thankful for Chairman Huang's support and trust and the opportunity to collaborate again with my former team members. Seeing the outstanding results achieved by the Taiwanese-built vessel 'Green Jade' on the Zhong Neng and Hai Long projects, we are confident that continued collaboration with DEME Offshore will lead to international business success in the future. I hope to nurture more local maritime engineers and crew members, fostering a sustainable future for Taiwan's green energy industry."
