Taiwan Launches Round 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development Auction Mechanism with 3.6GW Capacity Target
On the 27th, the MOEA announced the "Directions for Allocating Installed Capacity of Offshore Wind Potential Zones" guidelines for offshore wind zonal development Round 3, following 2 briefing sessions and 3 stakeholder consultation meetings. The application process will commence on April 1, 2026, with a six-month preparation period provided to developers. Submissions will close on September 30, and the selection results are scheduled to be announced before the end of the year.

HDRE Reports Over 50% Revenue Growth in H1 2025 165 MW Overseas Storage Project Set for H2 Commissioning
Smart energy leader HD Renewable Energy (HDRE) announced on Aug 11th its operating results for the first half of 2025. Consolidated revenue for the first half reached NT$3.356 billion, with a gross profit of NT$822 million and net profit attributable to the parent company's shareholders of NT$182 million, representing earnings per share of NT$1.31. Compared with the same period last year, consolidated revenue rose 55.67%, reflecting both business expansion and enhanced operational efficiency. With organizational upgrades and deeper overseas deployment, HDRE has demonstrated strong momentum in advancing to the next stage of its development.

GSMMA Deploys Advanced "Underground X-Ray Vision" Helicopter Technology to Pinpoint Geothermal Resources
To enhance Taiwan's underground resource exploration capabilities, the Geological Survey and Mining Management Agency (GSMMA) under the Ministry of Economic Affairs, in collaboration with the Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI) and Daily Air Corporation, has launched Taiwan's first-ever MobileMT airborne magnetotelluric (AMT) survey project. The mission brings in a geothermal exploration and geophysics expert team from Canada, with extensive global experience in helicopter-based airborne surveys.
