MOEA Announces the Results of Taiwan Offshore Wind 3-2 Zonal Development 5 Wind Farms Selected
The results of the offshore wind power zonal development Phase 2 capacity allocation have been officially released. The selected projects are Shinfox Energy (Yuanta), SRE (Formosa 6), CIP (Fengmiao II), Corio (Formosa 3-site 11), and Enervest (InfraVest, DeShuai), totaling five offshore wind farms with a combined allocated capacity of 2.7GW.
On April 10, 2024, the Ministry of Economic Affairs completed the receipt of applications for the second phase of offshore wind power zonal development capacity allocation in accordance with the "Guidelines for Offshore Wind Power Zonal Development Capacity Allocation." Starting in May, the Bureau of Energy and the Industrial Development Bureau conducted multiple review meetings for the Industrial Relevance Plan policy for offshore wind energy zonal development and the "Technical and Financial Capability Review for the Second Phase of Offshore Wind Power Zonal Development." After selecting qualified developers, the competitive price bidding process was completed on July 9, and the bidding results were announced.
Following the completion of the competitive price bidding process, the Ministry of Economic Affairs resolved overlapping project areas based on priority and developer selection regulations. The capacity allocation process was completed, and the selected developers were formally notified to sign administrative contracts with the Ministry by November 11.
