MOEA AI X Innovation Pavilion Opens at InnoVEX, Featuring Award-Winning AI Technologies and Emerging Startups

On, 2nd June, the Ministry of Economic Affairs (MOEA) Department of Industrial Technology opened the AI X Innovation Pavilion at InnoVEX, showcasing 31 cutting-edge technologies spanning smart machinery, communications, green energy, semiconductors, biotechnology, and medical devices. The exhibition features achievements from the TREE Program (Taiwan Research-Institute Advanced Technology Entrepreneur Ecosystem Program, TREE) and winners of the "2026 Best AI Awards", highlighting Taiwan's growing strength in AI innovation and cross-sector applications.
Deputy Director General Chung-Pin Chou stated that the Department has built a comprehensive startup support ecosystem through the TREE Program and the Best AI Awards. Since 2021, the TREE Program has nurtured 210 research teams, helped establish more than 60 startups, and facilitated cumulative fundraising exceeding NT$9.35 billion. Looking ahead, the Department will launch the "A+ Early-Stage Startup Grant Program" (A+ 早期新創補助計畫) to provide targeted funding for startups within their first 3 years that have developed operational prototypes. Teams with global expansion potential will also continue to benefit from the TREE Landing Program, which offers entrepreneurship training and business validation opportunities through leading institutions such as Stanford University and UC Berkeley.
Chou noted that these efforts are translating into tangible results. In the first half of this year alone, TREE-supported startups secured more than NT$700 million in new funding, including investments from major venture capital firms. In Taiwan's prestigious Startup Island TAIWAN Entrepreneurship Competition, 7 supported teams advanced into the national top 30, with Astron Medtech winning the Presidential Award and How Juen Technology receiving the Premier Award, demonstrating the competitiveness of Taiwan's deep-tech startups.
Among the exhibition highlights are KOFI Digital, an ITRI spin-off whose autonomous vehicle controller development platform has captured over 70% of Taiwan's electric bus market and is expanding into Japan and Southeast Asia, and Holon Robotics, whose AI-powered HolonOS platform enables no-code robotic automation for advanced manufacturing and aerospace applications. The pavilion also features nine Gold and Silver Award winners from the 2026 Best AI Awards, including Brain Dynamics, recognized for its wearable brain-computer interface system, and Kneron, whose third-generation AI chip supports applications ranging from automotive safety to smart city security and fraud detection.
The event also presented the 2026 TREE Award for Startup Potential, recognizing three emerging teams addressing global market needs: Green H2 Innovation for alkaline membrane water electrolysis hydrogen production technology, RapidWave for silicon carbide motor driver technology targeting automotive semiconductor applications, and CircuitFAB for its intelligent flexible knee support solution for smart healthcare. The AI X Innovation Pavilion runs through June 5 at Taipei Nangang Exhibition Center Hall 2 and will host investor matchmaking events to connect startups with global investors and business partners.
