Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm Signs First CPPA for Zonal Development Round 3 with SAS and Sustainable Energy Solution

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its Copenhagen Infrastructure V (CI V), announced on the 29th of last month that its Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm has officially signed a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with Sino-American Silicon Products Inc. (SAS) and its renewable energy sales subsidiary, Sustainable Energy Solution. This marks the first corporate power purchase deal under Taiwan's Zonal Development Round 3 and signifies a major milestone, transitioning Taiwan's offshore wind power sector from the Taipower purchase model to direct corporate procurement.
Thomas Wibe Poulsen, Partner at CIP, highlighted that the Fengmiao Phase 1 project serves as a benchmark for Taiwan's Zonal Development Round 3. With its advanced engineering design, expedited procurement progress, and substantial attention from domestic and international financing markets, the project showcases strong confidence and support from supply chains, banks, and the government in achieving its grid connection on schedule. This confidence is a key reason why Fengmiao Phase 1 is highly sought after by corporate buyers.
Xu Xiulan, Chairperson of SAS and Sustainable Energy Solution, expressed their ongoing commitment to integrating green power market demands and providing diversified renewable energy solutions. Through this partnership with Fengmiao Phase 1, the complementary advantages of offshore wind and solar power are effectively combined, significantly enhancing energy supply efficiency and delivering more flexible solutions for end-users.
Located approximately 35 kilometers offshore from Taichung City, Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm plans to install 33 wind turbines with a total capacity of 500 MW. The project is expected to be completed by the end of 2027, with the primary mission of ensuring a stable supply of green energy.
