2025 Energy Taiwan and Net-Zero Taiwan Conclude Successfully　Highlighting Global Focus on Renewable Energy and Sustainability

The "Sustainability Awards" ceremony was held today (Oct. 31) during Energy Taiwan and Net-Zero Taiwan, recognizing outstanding achievements in green innovation.

Co-organized by the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA) and SEMI's Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA), the Energy Taiwan and Net-Zero Taiwan exhibitions concluded successfully today (October 31). The joint event brought together 450 leading domestic and international enterprises across 1,600 booths, attracting a total of 20,000 professional visitors and industry participants over three days.

Among them, nearly 1,200 international buyers attended—an increase of over 60% compared to last year. The top five buyer countries were Japan, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Malaysia, and Canada, underscoring that renewable energy and net-zero sustainability have become central to global industrial competitiveness.

Strong Exhibition Results Highlight Taiwan's Momentum in Low-Carbon Industrial Transformation

During the exhibition, a total of 166 procurement meetings were held, attracting buyers from 17 countries, including Canada, Australia, the United Arab Emirates, the United Kingdom, and the Czech Republic, fostering diverse international business exchanges.

To help industries advance practical carbon reduction and explore cross-sector collaboration opportunities, the one of the event's co-organizers, GESA, actively facilitated connections between semiconductor, high-tech sectors, and exhibitors. During the event, GESA also hosted European sustainability consultants and a Dutch business delegation, with guided tours highlighting international hydrogen energy trends, energy transition technologies, and Taiwan's diversified progress.

Lively exchanges took place with European national pavilions, reflecting strong international interest in Taiwan's energy transition strategies and policy direction. These interactions underscored the critical role of public-private collaboration in accelerating the path toward net-zero transformation.

Sustainability Awards Spark Green Momentum as Enterprises Turn Net-Zero Commitments into Action

The fourth annual Sustainability Awards ceremony was held today, with New Green Power emerging as the Platinum Award winner, the event's highest honor, from among 14 shortlisted companies. Chairman Leo Seewald emphasized, "Green energy is a story of sustainable development—whether in booth design or corporate social responsibility, sustainability must remain at the core." Upholding its guiding philosophy of "coexistence," New Green Power continued its creative approach from last year, constructing its booth with bamboo and recyclable materials, and partnering with Mitsui's shopping centers for CSR initiatives that blend interactive engagement with social responsibility, embodying the true spirit of sustainability through innovation and action.

The Gold Award went to United Renewable Energy (URE), whose booth was constructed with over 90% recyclable materials and showcased a comprehensive portfolio of green energy solutions, reflecting its vision of connecting a sustainable world through clean energy.

The Silver Award was presented to Green Harvest Holdings, which designed its exhibition area using 100% recycled ocean waste panels and circular rental products, demonstrating a strong commitment to sustainability.

Synera Renewable Energy (SRE) received the Creative Award for its "Zero Output, Zero Waste, Fully Recyclable" concept, embodying environmental innovation through sustainable booth materials and forward-thinking design. The Popularity Award went to Ta Tun Electric Wire & Cable Co., recognized for its long-standing dedication to sustainable transformation, including carbon reduction in manufacturing, integration of recycled materials, and energy-efficient cable applications, highlighting tangible achievements in ESG implementation. This year's award-winning exhibitors demonstrated a higher level of creativity, interactivity, and sustainability integration, infusing the industry with fresh momentum and reaffirming the growing maturity of Taiwan's green culture and carbon reduction practices.

Net-Zero Transformation Inspires New Carbon Reduction Mindsets — Cross-Industry Forum Shapes a Sustainable Future

As one of the exhibition's major highlights, this year's event expanded upon last year's successful "Carbon Academy" by introducing the brand-new "Energy Lab," a three-day program centered on the theme of sustainability. The initiative drew nearly 400 industry professionals and participants, creating an engaging environment that blended learning with practical application.

Through case studies and interactive discussions, the Energy Lab guided enterprises in moving from planning to concrete net-zero action, establishing a transformative platform for hands-on energy transition. By offering diverse and practical solutions, the program encouraged companies to embrace innovative thinking and adopt actionable pathways toward sustainable transformation.

Throughout the exhibition, multiple high-level forums were held to explore global net-zero policy roadmaps, technological innovation, and supply chain strategies across sectors such as renewable energy, hydrogen applications, smart energy storage, power resilience, sustainable finance, and electric mobility.

Highlights included the "Solar × Energy Storage Innovation Forum," which focused on solar-storage integration and system efficiency enhancement; and the "Offshore Wind Supply Chain Competitiveness Forum," emphasizing the dual goals of localization and internationalization. The "Climate Resilience × Carbon Reduction Solutions Leadership Forum" examined how enterprises can build low-carbon competitiveness through credible data, renewable energy, and sustainable finance, advancing the 2050 net-zero vision from ambition to action.

The "Hydrogen Applications and Future Trends Forum" explored how hydrogen energy can strengthen grid resilience and decarbonization efforts, showcasing its potential in data centers, manufacturing, and transportation sectors. On the final day, the "Power Resilience × Low-Carbon Transition Forum" spotlighted smart grids and AI-driven energy management, discussing ways to enhance power resilience and accelerate low-carbon transformation, drawing insights from Denmark's resilience-centered energy transition model.

Four National Pavilions Unite in the Wind Energy Zone, Showcasing Global Collaboration and Green Innovation

This year's exhibition brought together four major national pavilions—the United Kingdom, Belgium, Denmark, and the Netherlands—demonstrating strong international cooperation in advancing the green energy transition. The UK Pavilion, featuring 13 companies, highlighted expertise in offshore wind farm planning and operations & maintenance (O&M) services. The Belgium Pavilion presented a comprehensive offshore wind supply chain, spanning monitoring to marine engineering. The Denmark Pavilion showcased cutting-edge technologies that reinforce Denmark's global leadership in green and sustainable innovation, while the Netherlands Pavilion focused on offshore wind system integration and R&D collaboration, underscoring a shared global commitment to advancing renewable energy.

In addition, several special thematic pavilions were established to promote energy efficiency and practical green power applications. The Taiwan Energy Service Association (ESCO Association) highlighted initiatives to help enterprises enhance energy efficiency and achieve deep energy savings, while the Solar PV Generation System Association (PVGSA) showcased efforts in green power trading, solar-storage integration, and energy storage redistribution. Together, these exhibits demonstrated Taiwan's determination to accelerate its green energy transformation and deepen its role in the global renewable energy ecosystem.

Looking Ahead: Building the Most Influential Sustainability Event in the Asia-Pacific Region Amid the accelerating global net-zero transformation, Taiwan is advancing energy diversification and low-carbon industrial transition. About the Green Energy and Sustainability Alliance (GESA)

SEMI established its Energy Industry Division in 2008, forming energy industry committees to integrate the solar, wind power, smart storage, and grid value chains. Through regular meetings, GESA convenes industry leaders to engage in policy advocacy, dialogue, and collaboration across the energy sector.
