Star Charger, in partnership with Taiwan Railways, has launched nine EV charging stations across stations in Yilan, Hualien, and Taitung, addressing range anxiety for travelers along the East Coast. HD Renewable Energy (HDRE) subsidiary Star Charger, a full-service EV charging operator, continues to expand Taiwan's EV charging ecosystem. On July 23, the company announced the official launch of its Eastern Railway Charging Network, established in collaboration with the state-owned Taiwan Railways Corporation(TR). This new network aims to improve charging convenience for long-distance and tourist routes in the Hualien-Taitung region. Since its founding in 2021, Star Charger has partnered with major national brands such as City Parking, FamilyMart, and PX Mart. The company plans to activate 15 more high-power dedicated stations by 2026, moving steadily toward its goal of building 1,000 stations across Taiwan by 2027.

Due to high installation costs and lower local demand, the Hualien-Taitung region has significantly fewer fast-charging stations than the western part of Taiwan, resulting in a clear gap in service. Star Charger is now the first charging operator to collaborate with the TR in eastern Taiwan, co-developing the "Eastern Railway Charging Network." The initiative includes charging station installations at nine stations—Yongle, Dong'ao, Shoufeng, Linrong-Shin Kong, Sanmin, Dongli, Fuli, Guanshan, and Ruiyuan—featuring charging power from 7kW to 180kW and up to 360kW, supporting both CCS1 and CCS2 dual-gun standards to meet diverse EV charging scenarios. Among them, TR Dong'ao Station, a key gateway into the Hualien-Taitung region from northern Taiwan, now features six 360kW ultra-fast chargers, well-timed for the peak summer travel season and designed to ease range anxiety for travelers.

Leveraging HDRE Group's strength in hardware-software integration, Star Charger offers a flexible, highly compatible deployment capability that enables rapid installation in various locations such as urban lots, convenience stores, shopping centers, corporate campuses, and residential communities. Beyond the Eastern Railway Charging Network and its own branded stations, Star Charger has also partnered with nationwide chains including City Parking, FamilyMart, PX Mart, E-Life Mall, and Chien-yen Hot Pot, embedding EV charging into daily life scenarios spanning food, clothing, housing, and transportation, bringing charging services even closer to everyday users.

As of the first half of 2025, Star Charger has established or is building a total of 321 charging stations across Taiwan, with the network continuing to expand steadily. The next phase will focus on high-capacity fast-charging station deployment. By mid-2026, Star Charger plans to launch another 15 dedicated high-power stations across northern, central, and southern Taiwan, each with over 1MW capacity. As operations scale and brand partnerships grow, Star Charger is progressing firmly toward its goal of 1,000 stations by 2027, working with partners across industries to create a smart, convenient, and user-friendly EV charging ecosystem.
