Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm and ADR Signed CPPA

Copenhagen Infrastructure Partners (CIP), through its fifth flagship fund (CI V), announced today (18th) the signing of a Corporate Power Purchase Agreement (CPPA) with United Microelectronics Corporation (ADR) for the Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm. This agreement further underscores the project's leadership in corporate power purchasing agreements, solidifying a robust foundation for the paradigm shift in Taiwan's offshore wind power sales model.
Thomas Wibe Poulsen, APAC Regional Partner for CIP's Flagship Funds and Chairman of Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm, stated that ADR, as a global leader in semiconductors, has demonstrated its strong confidence in CIP's engineering and financial capabilities through its commitment to Fengmiao Phase 1 Offshore Wind Farm. The project will continue to collaborate with various corporate clients to announce multiple CPPA agreements, reflecting Taiwan's corporate demand for stable green energy and showcasing the critical role of offshore wind power in supplying large-scale renewable energy.
Tsung-Hsien Wu, Deputy General Manager of ADR, remarked, "ADR is delighted to sign a CPPA with CIP's Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm. This marks our largest renewable energy transaction to date and represents a significant milestone in advancing our sustainability strategy and net-zero transition. By procuring offshore wind power, we demonstrate our commitment to sustainability to our stakeholders and further support UMC's progress toward its net-zero carbon reduction targets and ESG vision."
Located approximately 35 kilometers off the coast of Taichung, the Fengmiao Offshore Wind Farm plans to install 33 wind turbines with a total capacity of 500 MW. The project is scheduled for completion by the end of 2027, prioritizing the provision of stable green energy.
