To accelerate Taiwan's transition toward net zero, the Ministry of Environment (MOENV) today (Oct. 8) hosted the "Net-Zero Enabler—Carbon Dioxide Capture and Storage (CCS) International Conference", bringing together experts from industry, government, and academia in Taiwan and Japan. The forum facilitated in-depth discussions on national CCS strategies, emerging technologies, and public engagement, with the goal of charting Taiwan's path toward carbon storage development and driving progress toward the 2050 net-zero emission target.

Environment Ministers of Taiwan and Paraguay Sign MOU under the Paris Agreement to Deepen Climate Cooperation
Minister of Environment Chi-Ming Peng and Minister Rolando de Barros Barreto of Paraguay's Ministry of Environment and Sustainable Development today (1st), under the witness of Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Baushuan Ger, jointly signed the "Memorandum of Understanding on Cooperation under the Paris Agreement" at the Taiwan's Ministry of Environment (MOENV). This marks Taiwan's first MOU with a diplomatically on carbon credit cooperation under the Paris Agreement framework, paving the way for joint carbon reduction and technology collaboration to advance the achievement of Taiwan's Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs).

Gyeonggi-do Province has announced expanded subsidies to encourage the replacement of old diesel vehicles with eco-friendly models, as part of efforts to cut Particulate Matter (PM) emissions and achieve carbon neutrality. Residents who scrap diesel cars rated grade 4–5 and purchase an electric or hydrogen passenger or freight vehicle will receive an additional provincial subsidy of KRW 1 million.

TÜV Rheinland Backs Taiwan UAVs Entry into European Market through Four-Party MOU at Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition
At the 2025 Taipei Aerospace & Defense Technology Exhibition (TADTE) on September 19th at Nangang Exhibition Center, the Asia UAV AI Innovation Application R&D Center (AUIA Center), the Taiwan National Drone Industry Association (TNDIA), TÜV Rheinland, and STMicroelectronics signed a quadripartite Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). The ceremony was witnessed by Chiayi County Magistrate Chang-Liang Weng, Deputy Secretary-General to the President Chih-wei Ho, Christoph Saurenbach, Head of Trade Section of the European Economic and Trade Office, Eva Langerbeck, Director of the German Trade Office Taipei, and Cyril Dupont, Strategic Affairs Advisor at the French Office in Taipei.
