CSBC Corporation, Taiwan (CSBC) announced that its invested subsidiary, CSBC-DEME Wind Engineering Co., Ltd. (CDWE), has recently been recognized by the Belgian Office Taipei and awarded the 2024–2025 "Belgium–Taiwan Business Award." This award evaluates the achievements of Belgian enterprises in Taiwan over the past year, and CDWE was commended for its outstanding contributions in fostering Belgium–Taiwan business and investment cooperation, advancing offshore wind technology innovation, and promoting sustainable development.

CDWE was established in Taiwan in 2019 as a joint venture between CSBC and Belgium's DEME Group. From the outset, both shareholders made substantial investments, including the construction of Taiwan's first large-scale offshore wind installation vessel, Green Jade. Since its delivery in 2023, the vessel has been deployed for the Zhong Neng and Hai Long offshore wind projects. In 2024, CDWE successfully completed the installation of 31 foundations for the Zhong Neng wind farm, the offshore substation and all 37 foundations for the Hai Long 2 wind farm, as well as the foundation for the offshore substation of the Hai Long 3 wind farm — all on schedule and to specification. From vessel design and construction to offshore operations, CDWE has not only successfully replicated over 20 years of European offshore wind experience but has also integrated Taiwan's shipbuilding capabilities and marine engineering resources to deliver tailored solutions that overcome the challenging weather and sea conditions of Taiwan's wind farms. This achievement has marked a milestone for Taiwan–Belgium cooperation and laid the foundation for Taiwan's independent maritime engineering capabilities.

The award ceremony was held in Taipei, where Matthieu Branders, Representative of the Belgian Office Taipei, presented the award. CDWE Chairman Robert Tseng attended in person to receive the honor, expressing gratitude to the Belgian Office Taipei for its long-standing efforts in promoting bilateral exchanges and extending congratulations to all award-winning companies.

In his speech, CDWE CEO Javier Magro stated: "This honor represents not only our corporate achievements but also our commitment to Taiwan's energy transition and sustainable future. CDWE will continue to strengthen the deep partnership between Taiwan and Belgium through green energy innovation and local development."

According to the Global Wind Report 2025 released by the Global Wind Energy Council (GWEC) in April this year, Taiwan's cumulative offshore wind capacity connected to the grid exceeded 3 GW in 2024, ranking among the top five countries globally. Since Green Jade began operations in Taiwan's offshore wind farms in 2023, it has contributed installation capacity totaling 1 GW. Leveraging its professional maritime engineering management capabilities, CDWE continues to collaborate with Taiwan's small- and medium-sized marine engineering teams, prioritize local suppliers, and drive the growth of the domestic supply chain for shared benefits. It remains a trusted Taiwanese maritime engineering brand contributing to the nation's energy transition.
