During the seminar, the Commissioner of the Department of Environmental Protection, Taipei City Government, Sheng-Chung Wu mentioned that the carbon emission of Taipei City mainly comes from the residential, commercial, and transportation sectors. Based on the emission of 0.5 kg CO2 for 1 kWh of electricity and 2.6 kg CO2 for 1 liter of oil, he calculated that the CO2 emission of Taipei City is 11,142,600 metric tons. In the future, priority will be given to promoting the use of bio-diesel in environmentally clean vehicles to achieve the effect of reducing pollution and carbon emissions.
