The first phase of the Kaohsiung MRT Gangshan-Luzhu extension line has officially opened at Gangshan Station, marking the MRT's entry into the Gangshan urban area. President Ching-Te Lai attended the inauguration ceremony and delivered a speech, emphasizing that transportation infrastructure is an essential element for a city's progressive and prosperous development. Coupled with industrial connectivity, it further stimulates regional development. The Kaohsiung City Government's Department of Land Administration auctioned off land, with the Nan-Tzu Kaohsiung University living area reaching an astronomical price of NT$1,517,700 per ping, far exceeding the prices of the Asia New Bay Area, Kaohsiung's prime zone. The least popular was the "Commercial Zone 2" land of 588 pings in Kaohsiung's Zhongdu area, which remained unattractive due to height restrictions.
|Entertainment Tax Collection Reaches 860 Million in First 5 Months After Covid Pandemic
Entertainment tax has shown a recovery post-pandemic. According to statistics from the Ministry of Finance, the entertainment tax reached NT$860 million in the first five months of this year, setting a record for the same period in previous years. Taichung City and Kaohsiung City, among the six major cities, also reached new highs for the same period.
