Boskalis Collaborates with Local Stakeholders Towards Sustainable Development
Boskalis HwaChi Offshore Wind hosted its annual New Year media banquet on February 17th, which not only highlighted recent successes but also fostered a dialogue on the topics of environmental sustainability planning and ideas. Esteemed guests, including Mr. Guido Tielman, Representative at the Netherlands Office Taipei, Vice Chairman Chun-Li Lee of the Bureau of Energy, MOEA, offshore wind developers, as well as related non-profit organizations and associations, were cordially invited to partake in the event.
In response to the Taiwanese government's offshore wind development policy, Boskalis HwaChi Offshore Wind has assisted in completing multiple maritime engineering operations related to the subsea foundations of offshore wind farms in Taiwan. This banquet provided an opportunity to exchange ideas, as well as promote the "International Internship" and "Sustainability Internship" programs that its Dutch partner, Boskalis, is currently promoting, welcoming recent graduates from relevant departments of universities in Taiwan and the Asia-Pacific region to apply for an opportunity to join an international team as interns.

At the event, two interns, Kai-Hung Chen from National Taiwan University and Jie Hui Li from Nanyang Technological University in Singapore, were invited to share their internship experiences. Their research topics include floaters, mooring systems, and mooring tension, with an aim to identify the most efficient construction methods. In addition, the sustainability internship program involves utilizing planning and analytical methods, making progressive strides towards realizing sustainability goals.
Boskalis HwaChi Offshore Wind has always been dedicated to the sustainable development of the ocean. During the banquet, Elaine Chen, the Secretary General at Taiwan Eco-Angel Environmental Conservation Association, was invited to share her marine coral rehabilitation project, which aims to promote marine biodiversity and assist in the rehabilitation of ocean ecosystems.
