Stonepeak Buys into 957 MW Ørsted Portfolio
Ørsted is selling equity stakes in four onshore wind farms totalling 957MW in the US to investment firm Stonepeak for $300 million, and plans to recycle the proceeds of the sales into other projects. Stonepeak is set to receive 80% of the cash distributions associated with the four projects. Ørsted will continue to operate the portfolio.

Fluence announced today (12) the official establishment of its subsidiary, Fluence Energy Taiwan Ltd., at the Grand Hyatt Taipei, along with the "Advanced Energy Storage Technology Seminar". The opening ceremony attracted attention from various sectors, including government representatives, technology developers, and engineering contractors, with over a hundred attendees. Notable figures such as Yu-Quan Hsia, Deputy Section Chief of Energy Administration MOEA, Chin-Chung Wu, Taipower Vice President, and Betsy Shieh, Commercial Chief, AIT, delivered speeches during the ceremony.

Japanese Cabinet Passes Amendment to Expand Offshore Wind Capability into EEZ
The Japanese Cabinet held a press conference today (12) and passed an amendment to "The Act on Promoting the Utilization of Sea Areas," expanding the area for setting up offshore wind to the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ). Leveraging Japan's advantage of being surrounded by seas, the aim is to expand suitable regions for renewable energy and achieve net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

Norwegian floating wind company Odfjell Oceanwind and automation specialist Prodtex have established a joint venture called Windsteel Technologies. Led by former CEO Corvus Energy and industry veteran Geir Bjørkeli, the venture aims to construct low-cost, high-capacity manufacturing facilities for foundations used in floating wind turbines.
