Synera Renewable Energy Expands Partnership with Century Group to Advance Formosa 6 in Phase 3-2 Offshore Wind Project
Synera Renewable Energy Group (SRE Group), a leading offshore wind developer in the Asia-Pacific region, today (25th) announced that it has once again awarded Century Group the contract to supply the foundations for its Formosa 6 Offshore Wind Farm (Formosa 6). According to publicly available industry information, this expanded collaboration advances the construction of what will be Taiwan's largest single offshore wind project to date. It marks the largest partnership of its kind in the local market, representing a major milestone in Taiwan's offshore wind localization journey, and is expected to generate long-term positive social and economic impacts for the broader industry.
Formosa 6 was awarded 800 MW in second stage selection of Phase 3 Offshore Wind Zonal Development in 2024, and subsequently signed the administrative contract at the end of the same year, becoming the first developer to fulfill this key commitment. It now stands as the first and only project to have progressed into an advanced stage of development. Under the agreement, Century Wind Power Co., Ltd. will supply 57 jacket foundations required for the project, while Century Huaxin Wind Energy Co., Ltd. has been added as a Tier-1 supplier responsible for delivering 180 pin piles, supporting the project's timely grid connection by 2029.

Formosa 6 is SRE's first project in central Taiwan. Located off the coast of Changhua County, the wind farm is expected to supply clean electricity to approximately 860,000 households once completed and connected to the grid.
