|New Zealand Successfully Launches MethaneSAT Research Satellite
New Zealand's Ministry of Space and Ministry of Climate Change recently jointly announced the successful launch of the MethaneSAT satellite, marking a significant milestone in NZ's space endeavors. The primary function of the MethaneSAT satellite is methane detection, which is expected to contribute to climate change mitigation efforts. Led by the Environmental Defense Fund in the United States, the project sees New Zealand managing the satellite mission control center and participating in atmospheric science programs to research global agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.

|Building a Green Olympics: Paris Recycles Plastic to Create 11,000 Stadium Seats
In the pursuit of hosting a green Olympics, Paris is making significant efforts in various aspects, including food and venues. Two venues, the Adidas Arena for badminton and rhythmic gymnastics and MVRDV's Olympic Aquatic Centre, totaling approximately 11,000 seats, are constructed from 1 million tons of recycled plastic. Through careful sorting, crushing, and hot-pressing techniques, the plastic is transformed into sturdy boards of black or white base colors interspersed with various hues, reducing carbon footprints.

|TARI Promotes Straw Pulp Technology to Develop Environmentally Friendly Cushioning Packaging
The Taiwan Agricultural Research Institute (TARI-MOA) has successfully developed decomposable, environmentally friendly packaging materials using straw pulp technology, which is applied specifically to mushroom cultivation substrates to enhance mushroom production capacity. Taiwan annually generates approximately 1.5 million metric tons of rice straw, with much left unused. This technological advancement aligns with the government's recent emphasis on waste reduction policies, transforming rice straw into a recyclable resource and contributing to sustainable development goals.
