JERA transferred part of its ownership of Ishikari Bay New Port Offshore Wind Farm to an investment company, which was formed by Hokkaido Electric Power and Tohoku Electric Power, making the 112 MW offshore wind project jointly operated by JERA, Green Power Investment (GPI), Hokkaido Electric, and Tohoku Electric.

The wind farm, located in Hokkaido’s Ishikari Bay New Port, consists of 14 Siemens Gamesa 8 MW turbines with a total capacity of 112 MW, and includes a large 180 MWh battery storage system. Having begun commercial operations on January 1, 2024, the project supplies all generated electricity to Hokkaido Electric Power Network, Inc., contributing to regional renewable energy supply and grid stability.
