EnergyOMNI's inaugural ROC (Renewables On Campus) campus lecture takes the stage at NFU

EnergyOMNI Media held its inaugural ROC (Renewables On Campus) campus lecture series on the 19th of this month. The ROC Campus Lecture is a collaborative initiative between EnergyOMNI Media and James Wu, the CEO of Maximus Consulting. This project stems from the collective experience in educating talents for the offshore wind and renewable energy industries. It serves as a practical manifestation of our commitment to ESG sustainability initiatives. The first stop of the ROC campus lecture started at National Formosa University (NFU). The first session focused on "Solar Power Plant Management and O&M & Offshore Wind Practices," sharing practical insights with the Department of Electrical Engineering students. The aim is to acquaint students with various fields in the renewable energy industry for broader future employment opportunities.

Xin-En Wu, Founder of EnergyOMNI, emphasized the platform's commitment to being Taiwan's only bilingual media focusing on energy sustainability and net-zero issues. The ROC lecture, initiated at the end of 2023, facilitates talent matchmaking through industry-academic collaborations.

Associate Professor Chen Cheng-Yu of the Department of Electrical Engineering at NFU stated that, traditionally, electrical engineering students often chose industries such as semiconductors and electronics. However, with the development of Taiwan's renewable energy industry, the department is enhancing both subject-area knowledge and students' foreign language capabilities. The sharing session on solar and offshore wind industries is expected to provide students with more diverse career opportunities.

Solar energy company shared insights on "Ground-type Photovoltaic Power Plant O&M Management," detailing it's site environment and operational procedures.

James Wu humorously shared his offshore wind industry experiences, covering the industry's development and differences between fixed and floating wind farms. Wu emphasized the basic requirements for joining the offshore wind industry, encouraging students to have an adventurous spirit, improve students' English proficiency, break cultural barriers, accumulate experiences, and maintain enthusiasm for a broader career path.

EnergyOMNI Media plans to continue collaborations with major universities and energy sector companies. Through the ROC (Renewables On Campus) campus lecture, students will gain deeper insights into renewable energy development, contributing to cultivating a new generation of green energy professionals and promoting net-zero initiatives in Taiwan.
