The Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) held the opening ceremony of the "2026 Taiwan Maritime and Aquatic Remotely-operated Systems" (T-MARS) at Lover's Wharf in Xingda Harbor, Kaohsiung, on October 31, officially launching the inaugural event. The competition brought together 12 leading marine technology teams from across Taiwan, showcasing the country's strong capabilities in marine technology innovation, research and development, and interdisciplinary practical applications.

To mark World Food Day on October 16, the Global FoodBanking Network (GFN) and its sole accredited member in Taiwan－"Taiwan People's Food Bank Association" (台灣全民食物銀行協會), and GFN member organizations across 51 countries jointly launched the "#FoodForChange" (食物逆轉剩行動) campaign, promoting food recovery and waste reduction.

Taiwan's Ocean Affairs Council (OAC) held a maritime cultural exchange and experiential event in the waters of Dapeng Bay, Pingtung, on Oct. 17–18, bringing together the Department of Naval Architecture and Marine Engineering at National Kaohsiung University of Science and Technology (NKUST) and the Taiwan TAMORAK Cultural and Educational Association (台灣 TAMORAK 文教協會) for their first cross-sector collaboration.

Chenya Energy (辰亞能源), a subsidiary of Japan's Marubeni Corporation (丸紅集團), and POXA Energy (璞克斯能源), a provider of energy technology solutions, held a discussion at 2026 Net-Zero Taiwan & Energy Taiwan under the theme, "Is Green Electricity Really in Short Supply? Does Buying Enough Guarantee Sufficient Supply?" The discussion examined the next phase of challenges facing corporate renewable energy procurement, covering projected supply and demand in 2030, the allocation of solar and wind power, and the management of surplus electricity.
